I like how you've subtly changed each picture from the reference, like the hands in the forth one down or the hair in the third one etc. It makes the drawings better because you've obviously put a lot of thought into them

actually, I wanted to make the hair on the third one looked exactly the ref, (come on, it'd be cooler that way), I just coundn't pull it off, so...

trying to create a pose without a clear image in your mind is hard.. using references is the best

as I already said, using refs is actually helpful, but at least you must learn something from it, for example, sometimes I have that certain idea in my mind but I have no problem to depict it onto the painting, because I already observe a lot from references, most of my popular pieces weren't based on refs, which are cool to me hahaha

Usually I don't use references, and if there is something I need referencing I look at my own body.

a "reference" as i refer to, doesnt have to be a picture.. looking at your hand or a mirror is a reference

I don't know why, but for some reason I felt really guilty for making my sis pose for one of my drawings. Now I realize that I was being stupid. After all, painters of old used models for their paintings. Thank you for sharing. I shall start using references more often from now on.

hahaha actually, I used refs from various sources, mangas, movies, porns etc, but it'd be problematic for credit use,
sometimes if I'm in good mood listening to a good piece of music, a certain image just come to my mind and I just use it, , since I already learn a lot from references it's not too difficult to depict what i imagine onto painting

That's good to know, thank you. When I started drawing, I had a friend who kept telling me to do original poses all the time, so it got to the point that I was too afraid to even look at any references. In a way, it kind of slowed down my progress because I didn't look at images as much as I should've in fear of 'copying' something. Now I know how foolish that was. Thank you again. ^^
