Description part I:

from reference to digital painting, please do remind, as I already said,. when you use ref to create art, make sure you at least, learn something,

many of you may already saw this on my Facebook page, just wanted to post it here for those who havent seen these, for more insights

obvious answer for your questions (please stop sending me messages about these)
- yes, those are me (the title already stated that btw),
- no, I don't play "coloring" on original photos like others, you can watch steps in my scrap forder

somehow, it's a little sad as my painting skill improves, my photography tends to get worse....;____;

I really like the bottom two (the apple and the teddy bear) really cool angles and the paintings seem to be equally as awesome but still different.

Might I ask if these are old photos of you with longer hair, or are they recent with your hair grown out?
Sorry I just always noticed how you have cute short hair and these show you with hair similar to mine c:
Either way though beautiful photos ^^

that will take much time to practice, initally, all beginners have the same problem
actually Deviantart has provided such enormous sources of tutorials and references which are really useful,

when you achieve at a certain level, you could draw freely as you want at some point, that's gonna be a good feeling man

ya thats something im defenitly looking forward to .. to just create stuff from mind. that'll be awesome    but why are you still using reference ..? you can create from mind ,can't you?

DynamicInstability In reply to LvLOneArtist [2015-03-19 20:12:20 +0000 UTC]

Even the best have to start with something. Using references helps build on your skills, if you aren't just strictly copying from them. NanFe has clearly shown that she knows how to work with references and create beautiful, original works of art.

NanFe In reply to LvLOneArtist [2015-03-19 20:06:43 +0000 UTC]

btw, questioning me if I can create art from my mind like an insult to me, you think the "stories" I put in every single piece of my works are from references? come on man

LvLOneArtist In reply to NanFe [2015-03-19 20:23:02 +0000 UTC]

i can't tell if you're being serious or not but im gambling on, no since you're awesome but ya im not questioning your skillzzz at all xD  why else would i watch you ... you seem like a nice person ... your art is just amazing especially to me cause i am into the dark art  ...xD  the dark arts lol .. but ya ive been practicing alot with reference lately and i think its helped alot allready  ... last time i just looked for cosplay's and just picked random picks and that helped me do poses and stuff that are pretty hard for me ... but i really wanna know how your art will look in a few years  .. ..wow i'm hard to follow xD  sorry .   but ya .. thank you so much for taking the time to rely to my comments .. i really appreciate it

NanFe In reply to LvLOneArtist [2015-03-19 20:00:47 +0000 UTC]

using references as you observe the anatomy, lightings, people's expressions can help improve a lot,
I used first reference in 2012, a scene from a K-pop MV, it was not so good, but from that moment, I can play around with lighting of the city as much as I want
as I already answer the person below, all artists "copy" other's work at some point, in creative way,
still, or course there're people who just copycats for the rest of their life, never learn a thing, which is bad for only themselves, let them die lolz

fetfreak [2015-03-19 19:19:03 +0000 UTC]

Doing things without reference (unless you've drawn it 100 times and you just know it) can actually harm you in the long run because you might settle into broken proportions, bad anatomy, etc.

NanFe In reply to fetfreak [2015-03-19 19:24:26 +0000 UTC]

OMG, thanks for such obvious thing (anw, did you read my description? "make sure you at least, learn something"?)

sadly most of my popular works were done without any references

fetfreak In reply to NanFe [2015-03-19 19:27:12 +0000 UTC]

Didn't mean anything offensive. I love your work.
It just ticks me when people diminish the work or call it copying just because the artist used a reference or some unconventional tool.

NanFe In reply to fetfreak [2015-03-19 19:36:14 +0000 UTC]

I'm pretty confident in myself especially in painting so I dont give a shit what people say
btw, all artitsts "copy" in creative ways you know, that's how they evolving in centuries, there's no shame in it
