There could have been a lot of potential if they kept Vinny as the new dog. Like Brian could come back as a ghost and act as Stewie's moral conscience. Plus he's an atheist so being undead would lead to good jokes. And Vinny could have used a lot more character development.
If that car comes back and kills Brian for real (a possibility for "Brian the Closer"), then this is what should happen.Β
