Description Plumey Bitties and Shell Plumey (c) NanoBanana
Shell Plumey created by NevertaleSans for the PluMay 2022 Contest
Bittybones AU (c) Fucken-Crybaby

=== HOW DO I ADOPT A PLUMEY? ===
You just decide to and do! They are totally and completely free for anyone to adopt, so no need to ask (I'll always say yes). You can adopt as many as you like, just make sure to take care of them. You can write about your Plumey/Plumies or draw them, change their clothes, give them accessories, etc. The types described here are like describing the differences between a German Shepard dog and a Great Dane dog. They're all Plumies, just different "breeds", if you will.

If you adopt a Plumey, please make sure to credit me for the creation of the species and type. Also make sure to credit NevertaleSans for their hard work on the Shell Plumies if you can! Also, DO NOT adopt them just to kill or maim them (or let other Bitties and creatures kill or maim them). Also also, DO NOT clip their wings. That's just cruel.

=== PLUMAY 2023 - DAY 1 ===
These Plumies were originally developed by the talented NevertaleSans and were a close second to the winning submission in the 2022 PluMay Contest! Some of the information below has been altered from their original submission for formatting and clarification purposes. They are based on budgerigars, also known as budgies or parakeets. I sincerely hope you all enjoy these adorable little beans as much as I do! >v< <3

Shell Plumey
    Height / Wing Length: 4.6 - 7.2" (11.7 - 18.3 cm) / 6.1 - 9.5" (15.5 - 24.1 cm)
    Plumage: Wild Shell Plumies have yellow to green feathers with dark patterning, a head plume that is solid yellow with small blue patches at their temples and sometimes with dark edges to the feathers (see images of wild shell parakeets). Shell Plumies born in an urban environment (House Shell Plumies and those born in cities or towns) often come in a wider variety of colors: white to yellow or blue, solid yellow or blue or white, and either with or without the distinctive black patterning (see images of domestic parakeets, any natural coloration in them is allowed!)
    Diet: Herbivore (Vegan)(seeds, fresh vegetables, fruit, etc.)
    Favorite Food: Based on individual preference
    Superstition: This type is said to inspire others around them to shake off or break free from preconceptions, or to escape from less than desirable situations (like a toxic relationship, awful job, etc.).
    Traits: Usually extroverted, cheerful, highly flirtatious, and peacefully social towards members of their flock and other Plumey types. These Plumies are very vocal and have a lot to say! They are very affectionate with their flock members, family, and friends, often grooming those that they like. They have also been known to nuzzle and cuddle those they care about and sometimes have difficulty respecting others' boundaries. Shell Plumies can learn to mimic specific voices or sounds and have been known to pull little pranks here and there (especially when there's a phone or intercom available). They can become bored easily and love to chew on things, so casually destructive behavior is not uncommon. When they feel uncomfortable or threatened, they prefer to perch on high branches, hunkered down with their wings held close to look smaller and less noticeable. Shell Plumies CANNOT be left alone! They can easily slip into depression and/or become seriously ill from being solitary for too long. A sure sign of neglect is feather-plucking, self-inflicted damage, or an infestation of mites.
    Notes: Generally they are not territorial, but can act in a territorial way when they feel stressed or jealous. On the whole, they can get along well with just about anyone and will eventually be totally open with them, but they are the most social with their own type. While normally found in small flocks, they can gather in huge groups when a plentiful food and/or water source has been found. Shell Plumey flocks move around from place to place based on the availability of food and water, but will likely remain in one area if their needs are met. This can be more than a bit problematic for farmers, especially those raising wheat or other seeding grasses, when a large flock of Shell Plumies discovers their fields. They are hard-working parents and most often work together, but in some cases one parent will deny help from the other in favor of raising the offspring alone. These Plumies, like their bird counterparts, are a popular favorite among Plumey enthusiasts for their colorful plumage and bright personalities. Recent legislation has mostly shutdown many "backyard breeders" of the type, but potential adopters should be on guard and avoid encouraging any remaining "breeders" for ANY types. Shell Plumies molt one to three times a year during spring through fall and each molting session lasts for around two to three weeks. If a Shell Plumey is sick or injured, they may not end up molting when they should. Plumey eyelights are round but can have "rings" inside or outside the main eyelight.
