If you think you're losing your spark, it can indeed be a good idea to explore more topics or even to get out of your comfort zone.
This however does not mean you'll have to leave DeviantArt. I'd love to see what kind of things you'll be doing and how much progress you made and I think there are many more people here who'd like that as well.
And to react to your other question: I joined DeviantArt to have fun, to get inspired and to get to know other artists.

Same here.I feel like I came to devianart to improve as an artist and now I feel like I kind of got tired of doing artDoesn't mean I don't like it, but I feel more like I do it once in a while to calm myself down.
To least show that I haven't given up entirely on this community

my goal was to try to get my work out there so i could receive feedback and improve as an artist (and on my first year, I have vastly improved i think!!). I also wanted to try and connect with fellow artists because i don't really have anyone i know that likes art as much as i do...and i also really love becoming inspired by the thousands of talented artist out there, especially like you!! keep up the good work!! ^^ your art inspires me a lot, every picture you paint always tells a story <3

(First, I just want to say that I don't need the points at all, I'm not very active on DA so, you know...)
Now,I only want to answer your question, maybe it'll help you
I first joined DA because friends of mine were on and I wanted to show them how I love what they did
Then, it's also because I discovered talented guys over there (including you), which are doing really cool stuff
Thank to this, I realised how big the world of art was and how many talented people and kind of arts there were ^^
Ps: I think I fell in love with your style, though xD
Ps²: Sorry for my english, bisous from Belgium ^w^

To be honest, I don't think you have to step away from your comfort zone, unless you really want to
I think your style is beautiful and unique, and easily recognizable even under hundreds of artworks. That's quite a feat!
I also don't think your art is predictable. You clearly lean to a more dark, macabre theme of artworks, but there are also serene and beautiful images like Dream Awake that have a completely different atmosphere as other works.
Maybe you're just getting the blues like everyone does once in a while. Although I can understand the feeling of not progressing and expecting more from yourself, you shouldn't overthink it.
When becoming popular in an (online) community and gaining an audience and a lot of exposure, there is always the danger of becoming a "crowd-pleaser", and leaning more to doing art your audience wants to see, instead of art you want to do. So if you really feel like exploring other topics and themes, by all means, do so! Even if they might not get as much attention from your fans than your "typical" artworks, you should put yourself and your desire to do art first
Just my two cents

Love the art as always!
My primary goal when joining DA was to try something new. I had only really been drawing with paper and pencil for most of my life and I had finally decided to try my hand at paint. Drawing with a mouse was a challenge, but gradually as I got more into it, I invested some of the money I had saved up doing chores and got myself a really rudimentary tablet. It was the best tablet ever! Then I discovered DA and wanted to show people the art that I did and make friends. I have always wanted to do collaboration art but since it is not my primary job, I don't have a lot of time to do it. One day I hope I will have more time to devote to drawing and doodling <3 Another reason I joined was to experience the art that other people, such as yourself, put into the world. I love looking and everyone's styles, their stories, and the emotions that are portrayed. It helps me become a better person and better artists.
Hope all is well and keep doing what you love to do, your art is always expressive and I really love your style. n__n

@ v @ I really love this picture, if I had my own place I would love to have it hanging up in my room. <3
My main goal in joining was to get back to it, I use to be a member 6 years ago when I was younger and highly inexperienced to the art world although I knew it was what I wanted to do in life - I ended up becoming a photographer for the small towns I've been living in but I wanted to start in Illustration as well, I use to doodled as a child + teenage years. So I finally came back and started to draw, draw, and draw! I'm happy with my improvement thus far and want to share my works with everyone and follow better talented artists than myself.

Aaah, that drawing is so fluffing beautiful! How are you so talented? (I wish I could afford one of your prints, but I have no money at the moment.)
As for my goal when I first joined... Well I joined fairly recently in hopes to improve my art and meet new artists I guess. I also love having the chance to look at awesome art too! I wouldn't want you to leave Deviantart because I love your works, but as long as you're happy then I guess I'm happy for you. (I don't really mind if I don't win because getting to look at your art is more than enough. I hope this isn't too cheesy lol.)

To be honest, when i first joined it was to be able to see other peoples art and give my thoughts on what I found. My other reason for joining DeviantArt was to show people what I could do and see what I needed to improve on based on the feed back. However, I found myself leaning more towards art critic than artist. For me DeviantArt just wasn't the place I wanted to showcase my art or my writing.

The first time I joined DA was because it was the only place I could find to post my crap 8th grade haha.
Last year when I decided to pick up art again I came back to DA with the goal of growing; becoming a better artist, finding my art style, and getting my name out there. It's turned into a very slow process but I refuse to give up! c:

My primary goal was to follow other artists for inspiration and enjoyment as well as post some of mine to convince myself to get better and do more variety than simple anime like sketches.

Amazing and inspiring as always
I know what you feel... I'm starting to draw surreal things and my art it's taking a more personal form (and that's away from my comfort zone because it's new to me), but it's okay, I love your art but I'm sure that I'm going to love it even if the style changes a bit (or a lot, I don't care )
I joined DeviantArt because I was curious and I wanted to share my drawings and my inner world with deviants. My main goals were to learn more about different kind of arts, improve my own drawing style and meeting new people ^^

My primary goal joining DeviantArt years ago, was to put my art out for everyone to see--
so others could give me tips on how to improve, and hopefully someday
be good enough to inspire other artist (beginners, young & old) with my art.
I've always loved your art by the way, you have a very unique style.
