I like the idea of it being presented as having a "sporty" spirit, however it seems to be dampened by the dull grey background. Perhaps having a brighter and more cheerful background will help?
It's just my personal thought though, and I may not be understanding this correctly, so I'll let you have the final say.

I totally understand your point, and makes sense!
I used grey as a background for this one because I wanted the green to pop out as much as possible to highlight specially that funny part, that joy, in opposition of the common perception of science, more boring... grey
