Awe Thanks you are too kind lol I'm a pretty big fan of Larry Elmore, Ruth Tompson, and Todd McFarlane's dragons!! I didn't do this one completely so I cheated a little andΒ started with the neutral skin that comes with the DD3 and then ran it through several filters and coloring tools in Photoshop then put all the pieces back together as a material file in Daz to create the skin. I need to do the metallic dragons next, but have not had a chance as of yet except for the gold. Which is in the image Eat Crow? The debris are from Ron's Explosions and are overlays placed over the background.

I have an i3 and my renders manage to get finished overnight. Did you try a CPU render on the machine? Just to see how long it will take?

I haven't yet, but just upgraded to 4.10 so will give it a shot after while. It's faster, but I need to tweak my Iray settings they render a little grainy! I will post soonish. With some images I have done with 4.10 and the crystal dragon.

I just upped it a little to like 2.5 it helps some, but you can always turn it off, but the render will take longer to process.Β

I grew up with Larry Elmore type dragons with Dungeons and Dragons! He always does wonderful colors on his works and the chromatic dragons.

An evil creature that is loyal, it's not an usual thing. A good point for him.
That said, this dragon must be a tough opponent for his enemies, considering his power and the fact he's pretty crafty. It must be hard to kill one.
I love this blue color that is well shown off by the light brown background and his pose is very good.

Hehe........... I think it sort of goes with the .......... honor among thieves code! LOL! Yes very much so especially with the invisibility to blend in with his surroundings. Yes, this is my favorite coat texture so far!! Need to to the white one and then the rest of the metallics. The copper looks like it might be fun!Β

Today, with infra red gogles, the problem of invisibility could be solved but in Middle Age, it was another story.
Let's see what will be the profile of the white dragon and if he's related to snow.

Yes, white dragons like the snow and ice. Their breath weapon is rather like frozen nitrogen. Like if you dip a rose into it and then throw it on the floor it shatters into a million pieces. They often have people encased in ice in their dwellings that look rather like statues. I will have to do him soon!Β

Try as I might I could not get the lightning bolt to look right from him as it blocked out the detail on his body. I Will try again!! Soon!Β
Blue Dragons
Blue dragons are the most loyal and possibly the most intelligent of the chromatic dragons. They have served the evil humanoid armies of Takhisis on several occasions, and have been the favored mounts of the Knights of Takhisis, due to their loyalty to the end. Blues are territorial and aggressive creatures. They enjoy flying in the hot desert air during the day. They also prefer to fight from a distance, so as to cause little injury to themselves and devastate opponents with their breath weapon. Blues also possess magical abilities and use spells in combat up to the 7th level. They will not flee from combat unless severely injured, considering fleeing to be cowardly. The blue's breath weapon is a bolt of lightning and they are immune to electricity. They also possess the ability of hallucinatory terrain (able to change the appearance of terrain to make themselves invisible to opponents). Blue dragon habitats are in deep caverns in deserts or in arid plains. They hoard treasure, particularly gems and have a deep love of sapphires. Blues are watchful of any intruder in their domain, but openly hostile to brass dragons. They will not rest until a brass intruder is dead or driven off.
