I am utterly in LOVE with this. The skin texture is phenominal. The eyes are, wow. Just wow.

The right part is very good, left one is a bit more classical ...

I am happy to see you are using white in your work again. While I think most of your drawings are bloody fantastic, I think it is when you incorporate white, the piece really shines.

Amazing work! Very, very nice. You might like trying Wolff's Carbon pencils - they come in varying hardnesses, and give a velvet-like black. I think Dick Blick carries them.

could you please note down how long it took you to do this work, and any future undertakings

For a light capable of creating light strong enough to produce a brilliant white/off-white, you'd think that it'd be so strong the other side would be lighter...
Great work!!
I'll have to try something like this sooner rather than later!

that is one inspiring work. Shadows, texture and expression are perfectly imersed. At first sight, I thought it was Freddie Krueger or some horror caracter, once it was full sized I can see the perfect texture and insouciant expression. Perfect! But, is that deep crack on the right dark side rotten skin under a blind eye?

I dont think its rotten skin or a blind eye. From what I gathered from the image he just works in a really dirty environment (coal or something). That and the dramatic shadows of the photo caused some really cool effects.

Absolutely amazing, incredible detail. As a Fine Art student I one day hope to be able to capture a moment with confidence to create something like this.

In my humble opinion, using white makes it more illustrative and less fine art. Don't ask me to justify that. It's just my take. That does not detract from your great technical ability. You are gifted!

Excellent. The cigarette/cigar looks somewhat flat, though.

yeah, I think the outline on the light side of the cigarette contribute to that. I didn't even notice it before, heh. Always good to have a 2nd pair of eyes critique.

You've created a real subtle effect to the piece, I especially like the way you've managed to keep the guys flat cap in. I'd quite like to have seen a little more light to the left eye, but a truly sensational piece.
