Description
Collage and gouache paint on cardboard. We were supposed to illustrate two scenes of a story. this is one of them and here is the story:*******************
Once upon a time there was an old woman who had a cute, playful goat. Every morning she milked the goat while singing for him, then she made butter , yogurt and cheese with the milk.
One morning she went to find customers for the milk, when she came back the milk dish was empty!
The next day after milking she hid behind the firewoods, a few minutes later a black tailed fox came drinking the milk!
The old woman asked for her neighbors help and they requested her a good solution ...
The next morning The black tailed fox came back. He put his tail around the milk plate and drank the milk to the last drop.
When he wanted to go the milk plate followed him! It had stuck to his tale because the old woman had put paste on the plates surface.
The fox was scared. He ran from corner to corner, hit with his tale to trees and the walls; but the plate wouldn't detach.
Finally he curled his tale around a tree branch and pulled with all his power, the plate came off but unfortunately with the fox's tail stuck to it
The old woman had taken the plate and the tail. The fox begged the old woman :"Give me my tail. Give me my black tail please!"
The old woman: "I don't need fox tail. Give me back my milk, I'll give you your tail"
The fox ran to the goat and asked for some milk. but the goat said :"You've got to give if you wanna take. Bring me some leaves and I'll give you milk"
The fox went near the plane tree and said :"Dear plane! help me please. If you give me leaves, I'll give it to the goat, he'll give me milk. I'll give to the old woman and the old woman will take my tail back!"
The tree said the same as the goat had said, and asked for water to give leaves.
The tailless fox went to the spring and asked for water, but the spring needed a tune to give water.
The little foxy found the shepherd and asked him for a bit of Ney tune ([link] ). but the shepherd didn't have a Ney!
So this poor fox went to bazaar and found the old Neymaker. The Neymaker wouldn't give a free Ney and the fox didn't have money! so the ney maker said that he accepts eggs too
The fox found the fat, short leg hen and asked for eggs. The hen wanted wheats instead
So our little fox ran to the wheat field, it was the harvest season and the stacks of harvested wheats were all around the fields. The children were holding each other's hand playing.
The fox was too polite to steal wheats, but also tired of being asked for something in return every time! So he used his fox sensed and ran between the children crying and shouting :"There's a flood in the village, how can you play here?"
The children left the field scared and now the fox was free to have as many wheats as he wanted.
So he gave anything asked to the hen, the Neymaker, the shepherd, the spring, the tree and the goat and finally gave the milk to the old woman. Happily The old woman sewed the fox's tail back !Hooray !

I could put this Eloquent, but instead I'll say what I thought as soon as I saw this:
Holy Crap that is Adorable!
A bit of a technical question: I've never used gouache on cardbroad, how well does it take?
I'm assume you had to gesso it first, how many coats did you need?
I hope you don't mind the questions, I'm just trying t find different (and cheaper) grounds for painting

Thanks a lot dear magp13
I unfortunately don't know what exactly "Gesso" is.
I simply paint the place I wanted to be painted two times so that it was covered well.
There are different brands of gouache paint here with different prices. I use the cheapest ones! :lol The expensive brands have better qualities, but their colors are not as pure and nice as the cheap ones.
The difference is that the cheap gouaches don't coat the area you paint at the first time, so you have to color it two or three times, but in the end you get nice and vivid colors.
However this one is not completely painted with gouache. It's mostly collage.
I had made some color papers with different textures, by covering a piece of glass with color ink drops and putting glossy papers on the glass. So I had many colored papers. For every part I cut out pieces of those papers and pasted them here.
Hope it wasn't difficult to understand with my bad English

Don't worry about your English...It's probably better than mine.
Thank you for curing my curiosity, and if you want to know what gesso is and a good, cheap brand, let me know
