Yeah,, Every avatar has something called an animal guide I think 
Aang says so himself I think on "The Spirit World" (Winter Solstice, Part 1).Β
Appa was Aang's animal guide, Fang was Roku's, Naga was Korra's :3
And we can only assume that this antelope/cougar-looking animal was Wan's
