Wellcome to Japan! Ah back in the day, After the events in "When in Rome" wherein Italian Police eventually tried to break up the SF-KOF scrap (which got worse cause R. Mika and Blue Mary refused to stop fighting, when the cops interfered, THEY STARTED KICKING THE COPS ASSES! Much to Chun-Li and Mai's chargrin!) Chunny using her influence as a Interpol agent(and Athena using her Psycho/Magic to subtlely put them in a more agreeable state of mind)kept them from being thrown in jail. Anyway Mai and Chun-Li were NOT PLEASED that their duel was interrupted, Some time later Mai calls on Li after both become frustrated at not getting another crack at each other, even at Streetfight meets for various reasons(not advancing far enough in standings, ergo: getting beat before they can get together)and says they need to settle the score, since Chun-Li is the one challenged she gives her the choice of battleground, Chunny says Japan is just fine, shes never been there before. Mai replies: "Come to my family shrine at the foot of Mt. Fuji, theres a small village there, Midnight Thursday, DON'T BE LATE!!"
She isn't, and Chun-Li finds Mai waiting, standing on the roof of a tall pagoda, framed by the full moon. Both women take a moment to lock eyes with each other, waiting....and the gauntlet is thrown as Mai races across the rooftops, heading for a nearby forest with Chun-Li in hot pursuit on the ground! Mai leaps into the trees and looks behind her, To her surprise Chun-Li has no problem running up and flinging herself through the branches as though she weighed nothing! Surprising stealth for one wearing hiking boots! Chunny hunts for her but doesn't have to search long, Mai comes sailing out of the canopy above her and unleashes a solid left hook! Chun delievers a hard right leg into Mais chest, reeling backward nearly falling out of the tree, Chun-Li presses her attack with a Flying Spear and crashes into Mai, both women lock on to each other tumbling through the branches to the ground but Mai manages to twist around so Chunny takes the brunt of the impact!
Mai recovers first, she sends a solid Sunday Punch right into Chun-Li's left eye! "Wellcome to Japan!" she exclaims.
Chun-Li is NOT amused and bloodies Mai's lips with a single backhanded fist strike! "Domo Arigato!" she replies.
and NOW they smile at each other, This IS GONNA BE GOOD!!!
