I still find it hard to understand how Neji "died" for Naruhina. Yes he protected Naruto and Hinata from death, as any good comrade would, and he died with no regrets. Naruto and Hinata didn't even get together until 2 years later anyways, its hardly like his death forced them to be together.

It didn't force them to be together no, But it sure helped. I mean they barely talked throughout the entire manga. His first impression of her is that she is weird. But by neji dying, Who comes to the rescue? Hinata. His death gave hinata a reason to comfort and talk to Naruto, and hold his hand. I mean after she confessed that she loved him, he never responded to it. And If nejis death didn't effect Naruhina then why else would they hurriedly kill him off? They have a cute moment were Hinata talks about how warm and big narutos hand is while her dead cousin lays in front of her after being brutally murdered minutes before hand. Im just saying, Naruto never really showed any real interest in her, anything more then a friend or sister, but as soon as Neji is dead and hinata slapped him he suddenly realizes shes "been there all along".

One of the themes of Naruto is to move on and progress.Do you really think Neji would have wanted her to keep on crying after his death?He would have wanted her to change the clan alongside Naruto.That whole "Big hand" argument doesn't hold up, because there have been hundreds of those types of moving on moments throughout the manga.

Moving on is fine. Their in a war. I get that. But her mindset should've been about winning the war and solely that, in that moment. Its just Kinda.. Whats the word. Offensive? Shallow? Idk. to be thinking about Narutos warm and big hand instead "I need to avenge Neji." It just made it seem like she moved on, too fast. And im sure Neji would have wanted Hinata to change the clan, too bad in the last chapter and movie, we don't get to see that. We get her talking to her kid, and a story about a scarf. Maybe well get something in the kids season, but I doubt it, considering it is about the kids, but if we don't, Nejis death will kinda be in vain. (And her changing her clan should've been in the Manga not her kids story, who cares if the manga ends on a odd number??) Also, the earlier comment about Neji dying with no regrets. Um, im pretty sure he would've wanted to be there to witness the change of their clan, or do it himself. Instead of being the Martyr he was destined to be since birth. His whole legacy was changing destiny. So.

But he choose to be a Martyr, just like his father before him, he chose his own death.Just because its too protect there clan doesn't mean it was his destiny. I also highly doubt that the clan hasn't been changed in some way. I would also like to note that Naruto himself moved on fairly fast as well.In fact, the whole shinobi alliance moved past the stuff they saw to continue fighting.Its just part of the uplifting writing that kishi tried to maintain.It was supposed to showcase the " never give up" trait.

Yeah I get that he chose to be a martyr. I wasn't saying he was forced or anything. If they were in a situation where Naruto and hinata were in danger of being killed, would neji protect them? Absolutely! No question about it. That's totally in character. But what I was trying to say, is that the circumstances that led to his death, didn't make sense. Out of all the ways characters have died in this show, (Itachi after having a very detailed and well thought out inevitable fight to the death with his little brother that has been hinted at happening since the beginning of the manga, Jiraya fighting his former student and being defeated, showing the change in Nagato from the time we was a kid and first met his sensei, Minato and Kushina having a badass fight protecting their baby from a strange masked man who later becomes one of the most important villains in the entire series) He was stabbed?? Like..thats it? By a character that had nothing to do with his story, and was unrelated to his character entirely? because he 'just happened' to be there and help fight? They could've drawn Kiba, or Shino or some other character who 'just happened' to be there in the same exact position and Naruto still would've felt guilty, So why pick Neji? And Isnt the point of making a story so the fans can, I don't know.. read it? If there were some changes to the hyuga clan, id like to see it. I mean why get us involved with the hyuga curse and branch house and shit if in the end theyre just gonna say "You know what, Imagine what happens for yourself." That seems to be the motto for understanding this ending. Alsssssoo Naruto moving on 'fairly fast' again, as I said in the last comment. wasn't the problem. Theyre in a war. Gotta move fast. Got it. But After neji died and he was moving on his inner monologue was pretty much ' I cant give up, people have been rooting for me, Lets go fight Hinata!" Not "Damn girl, Your hand is silky smooth and so feminine mhm" Whereas Hinatas again, was, "Naruto, your manly hand is making me feel so safe right now." Im sure she was thinking off Neji, But she came off as kinda selfish. (Sorry for long comment)

I think that a lot of the missing answers will be put into the after series with bolt, which may have been why the clan wasn't shown to have changed. Neji mostly also died because his character arc had sort of already ended.He was going to change the Hyuga, and that's about it,their wasnt much more he wanted.Sure he didn't need to die, but his death made the war arc feel more dangerous for a time, and gave many of his fans greater love for him.I think you and I are just seeing the circumstances differently, so I would like to end this discussion if you don't mind.

And thank you for acting civil about all this.I still believe in my opinion, and you believe in yours, but at least we both agreeded to hear the other side.Many Narusaku and Narusasu fans have acted in a manner that I find very unfitting of the ships and their character.Not all ships will be canon, so people should have been prepared for something like this.I would have defended both of them if either had become canon, but the way some have acted has caused me to reproach in my defense of them. Humans will be Humans, I suppose. Best to not feed the flame war, otherwise it will burn forever.

Couldn't have said it better myself xD He was an amazing character and if there gonna kill him off at least give him a proper ending? Really? Stabbed through the chest because he just happened to be there? They could've easily drawn chouji or ino or kiba in the same exact position. They gave no thought to his death and it shows how they don't care about any characters they have to kill or bonds they have to break to make their shitty pairings happen in the end. :\ Sorry for long comment. lol
