Description
This was done for a friend - it's a pitiful attempt at a copy of Lesley Harrison's work. It took me about 2 hours to do. I used an HB mechanical pencil, a 4B and 6B pencil, a lot of blurring with a paper tissue and a lot of clicable erasor too. I was not a perfectionist drawing this, and I sort of like the roughness of the result. This is only part of the drawing as my scan couldn't fit the entire thing and I'm having a hard time pasting the two halves together in photoshop...
Criticism of any kind is welcome.

By using a softer/ darker graphite pencil. I think for the muzzle I used the 4B and 6B. Plus, the paper texture really helps. This one is not exactly for graphite... but it's smooth and really thick, which I like.
I hope this helps
Thanks for the comment!

It sure does, I think the paper makes more difference than you first think. At least have I started to realize that.
Thanks for the help and time and yet again, awesome drawing

Criticism is always good, so long as it is constructive. And the god-of-drawing knows I need it and He's tired of my praying for inspiration

Not bad for a pitiful attempt!
I too find it difficult to stitch two scanned images together. If you use photoshop perhaps the photo stitching function might help. I only ever had to stick one drawing together and that was probably two years ago now!
Nice to see you're still drawing.

HI!!! Wazzup? Long time no read! Thanks for dropping by I used photoshop and managed to paste the two halves, but the collage isn't much different from this one piece scan - there is only a little bit more of mane.

Wow I just looked at the date of your reply and it's from well over a year ago. Just been on Evboard and it brought me back to checking a few peep's work on deviant art.
How are things for you? I'm glad to see you are active in your art still. The only thing I've worked on recently was a small painting for my house mates but it was more like a fantasy childish painting that I painted from my head. I'm still very much into web design, been doing it four years now would you believe!
I'm gonna check out some more pictures on here and get some inspiration.
Have a Merry Christmas
Mike

it's in the map photography, but it isn't a picture. But I love it anyway!

Thanks - I changed it already. It would be a dream if I could have caught a pose like that on camera. Perhaps in a few years, when I have a decent camera and a decent eye for photos.

Thanks! As I said - a lot of "cheating" went into the shadding, so it was a lot faster. And it's a copy of a drawing - not something I like to do, but it's per a friend's request.
