it's all japanese reading style but you are right there are also exceptions. if the speech bubble is far upon the other it is read first though.
i think about adding a tutorial with some helpful advices soon ^_^

Hah, you know I have this same trouble with her pages too I think she mentioned once that it reads right to left. It wouldn't surprise me because almost every single German homemade manga reads right to left XD *eyes her books*

I think her biggest problem is that she has characters facing the right side. There is a pretty basic rule in comics that, for the most part, you don't have characters facing the opposite direction of the page flow unless they are leaving the panel or are looking regrettable. I only do it, occasionally, when there isn't a lot of action in a scene and I'm tired of characters all looking left. I like Naschi's old-school artwork but she doesn't place word balloons and characters very well. It's actually a really common problem with Western artists doing manga-styled comics, since they naturally read left to right. You have to train yourself out of it, like I had to do when I came to Japan. On the rare occasion I DO make an English-language comic, I will have to remind myself "left to right, left to right" when placing characters and coming up with layouts. This is why I always say if you aren't doing a comic in Japanese, don't draw right to left. There's just no reason to, but I see so many people do it. I bought the first volume of Carciphona by a DA artist as well as Sacred by a European DA artist and both were, for some reason, right to left. I do right to left because I actually release my comics in Japanese originally.

Glad I'm not the only one having some trouble reading these pages

I agree with everything. The funny thing about all this, is that supposedly if a German comic is in manga style and does read left-to-right --as would be normal in Germany naturally-- nobody will read it and it'll lose money because it's not "authentic manga" enough D: I read this somewhere once and I couldn't believe it. I felt bad for German manga-influenced artists. This would explain a lot though.

For about 2-3 years when I was in jr. high, I did my pages right-to-left (oh, young weeaboo XD). The funny thing about that, is that after another couple of years I drew left-to right, because well duh, we read left-to-right over here. However I would almost always make the mistake of arranging a page that would be correct in right-to-left but not the other way around To this day I still have to check myself so I don't make that mistake.

That's too bad about German artists! I actually debated flipping FaLLEN so it read left to right in Enlish but it seemed like too much work...
