Hello,
that's me working on the cover illustration from the german Projekt Mangaka competition.
At this step i add highlights with opaque white.

i never got used to PAINT something, if i paint one of my works it lacks of details on shadows and light effects because i need to be really careful with the ink.
i prefer colors, but it seems you don't have the same problems as i.

ok i saw that you uses usuallyΒ watercolors from Dr. PH. Martins. The colours are more intenseΒ than normal watercolours and you can not use so much water right?
