very nice photograph. your color choice is well done; the grays/neutrals give the photo an overall gloomy and somber appeal to it.

the leaves, which seem to one of the few sources of relatively non-neutral color, are also placed well to put emphasis on the woman. any more leaves would have covered too much and given me a feeling of her being slightly buried. too little, and it would have lost some of that sense of petite drama i get from it. i'd also note that while the leave make the subject feel more petite to me, it also radiates a sort of strength, if that makes any sense.

the part of her face missing from the photo provides a sort of anonymity. in a way, it's comforting, in the way that we give a certain respect for the dead. in another, it makes me wonder what she looks like and who she is. she's obviously a beautiful woman, the light gleaming off of her skin is very radiant. the contrast between bright skin and the neutrals of the photo really bring out that petite, radiant quality.

making the hand, curled slightly around the neck, the focal point is probably what made this for me. gives me a feeling of defeat, as if she was trying to protect herself. the neck and hands both have a very sensitive appeal, and putting them dead center of the photo and the light source was a great idea.

overall, really great shot. i know very little about photography; i hope that doesn't deprive all meaning from this critique for you. i think you did a fantastic job on this. also, i've never done a critique... my apologies if this doesn't meet standard expectations.

Lovely photograph. The contrast between the model's skin and the darker sweater and background is very striking. The color palette helps with this, and it makes the image very stark. The textures are beautiful, especially the variety between the rougher backdrop layers and the skin. The choice to leave the model's out was a good one; it draws attention to the shadows of the body/form, which adds more the general "feel". The image is a little blurry, but it's not too distracting. The pose is evocative--sensitive. It adds a delicate feeling to the whole piece. It looks like a tragic book cover e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> well done.

It must be the sweater's, they make the leaves stand out in a much more natural way. Seems like the hand's in the photo's go this way as well. Natural, I mean.
