Description
Okay, so this was another one of those small tutorials that became massive. As a disclaimer, I've never had lessons on digital painting, or much in the way of colour, so if there are any inconsistencies with my spoken truths - then please forgive me! Also, I know there are spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, but I accidentally lost all my layers and so couldn't edit a number of the sections.
But now that's out of the way, thankyou for taking the time to read this, or view it! I hope that this helps in some small way or another, my last tutorial absolutely blew my mind with the response, so I thought I'd create another one and elaborate more on the art of painting. This tutorial was made and based with GIMP, so some things may be different for photoshop users, but the basics are all the same.
I will next be doing a tutorial on how I draw proportions, which has been asked of me on many occasions, Ill hope to have it out in the next month - thank you for all my faithful friends.
Feel free to leave feedback, and any questions and ill try my best to answer them.

Oh okay, I thought that cyan, magenta and yellow were the primary basis colours for printing? Im not sure, like I said in the artists comments, I've never been taught properly, it's just stuff that ive picked up along the way. Sorry for the inaccuracy.

Technically printing and painting it's the same, adding pigments to a surface, if we keep adding colors we finish with a darker color (if we add pure primary colors in same measure we'll end with black... technically, because pure pigments do not exist)
Don't worry, no one is born learned (i dont know if this expresion is know in english :/ ) and you're not the only one that still thinks red is a primary sustractive color, like i said, it's cutural herency, i learnd the same in kindergarten.
Don not think to much about it, in renaissance artist thought red, yellow and blue made the primary colors, and they created wonderfull works,
Just, for now on, you know, let's experiment with magenta, maybe your work improves significantly, that will make me happy

Oh for sure! It's not restricted to GIMP. Nearly everything I mentioned above in relation to my technique would work anywhere. The only issue you may have it with the colour modes. It may not have all of them. Let me know how you go

Very helpful tutorial, thanks ! Even if the "simple" blending without the smudge tool is quite perplexing.. It seems very long to do ! But I think it's just practice, and practice again..

Oh honestly, it looks like it would take a long time, but literally I do it in less than 10 seconds. I just took a long time to explain the process in depth.
