"Just as nature, magic doesn’t distinguish between good and evil, right and wrong - it knows only transformation. It breathes with lungs too deep and wide to concern itself with the mundane. Good and evil exist only in the actions of people. When, in 1927, the Great Mississipi flood swallowed Plaquemines Parish, many raised their hands to the sky and called it unfair, cursing it. It had rained for months and the destruction was unprecedented. But my voice did not join theirs. Water destroys, water creates, but water does not know evil."
