Really great job! I always find myself amazed at how people can have the skill to apply colours in such a way that they actually look as though they are lights, or glowing.

Thanks and it's all about using the air brush wisely (and perhaps a small blur layer when needed), very easy when you know how!
There are some great tutorials on DA if you want to know more!
Here's what I mean, first one is using a brush, second is using a blur layer:

'Course, you're welcome. Ah, I'll definitely take a look. I can't draw, but it's interesting to know!

Thank you so much yea, I kinda got the idea of something artificial desiring something it could not reach. And that the object being something we could all relate too. Glad you like it!

Fabulous work as always! I am always stunned by your digital paintings and the speed at which you manage to do them. The dark water and half-submerged bear here really add to the feel - Love it! <3

Ahhhh thank you!!! I actually forgot to record how long I took on this, but I left it to the last minute though >.< I could only work on it Tuesday night and last night! So something like 4-5 hours probably

That's still amazingly speedy in my book! My er, 'record' is more like 40hours xD but yeah I'm still learning so a lot of those hours were tea drinking and head scratching I guess lol. But ah, yes I really love this piece and of course I look forward to seeing more

I spend a lot of time staring at my work, especially if I get really sleepy while drawing it. I think there has only been one time though where I actually fell asleep while drawing XD I think I will now work on some environments then back onto mechanics always helps to have a break and do something new! Let what you have learnt sink in before tackling it again
