I remember you mentioning the near-death situations before, but I can't remember--have any of the current Awakened Ones become so through the second criteria?
the Yggdrasil part is interesting--I'd imagine that would limit the number of potential Digimon/Awakened Ones link-ups, then! in terms of a connection with Yggdrasil, does that mean those that are associated with Yggdrasil in canon (like the Three Archangels, Four Holy Beasts/Devas, etc.), or could it be any Digimon that has somehow had Yggdrasil affect their lives/do something with Yggdrasil?
also can I just say Pascal is so cute. Good god best teacher 10/10 would happily learn anything from such a sweet Patamon.

I think I've mentioned it before in previous deviations, but I don't remember which ones, OTL. Awakened Ones that have met the second criteria (along with who they saw die) are: Tori and Shinnichi (their parents), Duke (won't reveal until later), Gerard (his girlfriend), and Xiao (her mother).
Both actually, I'm going to cover more on that in the next part (since I failed to mention a few other requirements for the Guardians, oops).

Near Death: Yeah, if not for the fact I've plans and reasons for the newest Red, he'd have been like this a hundred times over. (I may be exaggerating)

Well, one possible Evo-Line for her would be: Patamon>Darcmon>HippoGriffomon>Griffomon. In fact, this is probably the only one that would suit Pascal.
I'll probably elaborate a bit more on that later, but Awakened Ones have a lot of near-death moments, even after forming a pact the first time they're near death.

I never really took into consideration that Pascal was actually a boy's name. =w=;; I was so focused on one female character that had that name that I never really thought about it.

A little question, if a human near death awakens, then is saved, he keeps being an Awakened One or this link vanish ?

Yup, pretty much. XD
He keeps being an Awakened One until death. Although, there are ways to temporarily sever the connection, but aside from that, unless he dies, a connection between Guardian and Awakened One cannot be severed.
