It is also one of the most crowded. However if you're willing to wake up early and do the hike before sunrise you'll have the entire the trail to yourself and get to see these beautiful lakes and mountains in the amazing sunrise light. On the way back down you'll pass a ton of hikers coming up, and then you'll be glad you woke up early!

I've been to this area many, many times, and you have some of the very best
photos of it that I've ever seen.
I totally agree with you. Early morning cannot be beat for exploring this area,
to escape the crowds.
Of course, I've been up the trails in the winter, and that is great, but you have to be really careful.
