To purchase this image as an exclusive limited edition print please visit my website @ WWW.NATEZEMAN.COMThe now ghost town of Crystal, Colorado was founded in 1880. numerous silver mines were in operation here in the late 1800s and this was the mill that powered a mechanical air compressor for ore procesing. There is a 4 wheel drive trail that you can take to this mill thats about 10 miles round trip. We decided to hike the road instead. It ended up being a really really long day because it was a steady downpour of rain/snow the entire way there and back. I actually was glad it was raining and foggy though because i thought it would be a nice change from the sunny and blue sky photos you normally see from here. hope it was worth it!

Well worth the work to get there. This shot is incredible. Your experience really shines in this amazing landscape. Everywhere you look at in this image there is something worth looking at. This would be amazing with snow on the ground. Just a thought for future photography.

Damn Nate one of the best shots I think I have ever seen on the Mill, as long as I can recall....that is quite a hike too and in the rain? Yer lucky you didn't go sliding off the damn edge lol You caught some unreal atmosphere here man, this is freakin stuff that belongs in National Geographic!

thanks! if you have a halfway decent 4wd vehicle it would be a lot easier but i didnt wanna attempt it in the rain

Yeah you got that right, I have read horror stories about 4WD and that road in the rain. So how are the colors looking up around there in Breck?!?!? Are they pretty much all gone now??

theyre pretty much done up here but i was just in the san juans on tuesday and the colors there have atleast a solid week left
