They spend the short summer months constantly harvesting grasses. They use these grasses to turn into hay and live off of during the long brutal winter. It's pretty crazy to watch these little guys. Working literally all day. Running from the rocks to the grass, taking these bundles of grass to their winter storage spot. They are not that easy to get a photo of though. Pika are tiny, fast and very skittish. I sat still on a rock for about an hour and a half before I captured this one.

This is one fantastic shot, I adore it, I'm impressed you could get such a nice clear, close shot of these guys, they're trickey to photograph b/c they're so shy and skittish! excellent work!

That is adorable. Patience definitely paid off here. I saw a couple of these guys when I was in the Rockies, but they were gone before I got my camera up.

I just got back from backpacking in the Three Sisters Wilderness area. I'm pretty sure we found a pika nest alongside the trail. Sadly, no pikas to be seen. I shall have to make do with your amazing and adorable photo.
