Description
Final two-page spread for Nonplayer #1, released April 6 2011 by Image Comics. You can buy a copy of the comic here: [link]And the digital version of the comic can be found here: [link]
All of the pages for Nonplayer are drawn directly in Photoshop CS3 using a Cintiq tablet monitor. For line work I use default brush settings at 100% hardness.
For coloring, I use the popular Multifill and Flatten plugins ([link] ) to build selectable areas of color, and then I add new layers of color at different blend modes and opacities (this is a pretty random, haphazard, and slow process).

This is just unreal. I'm friends with a comic shop owner who's hooking me up with #1. You should sell posters of this spread, too. Unreal.

I hope everything works out for you. This is an amazing piece of artwork. So much thought and detail. I missed some of the details of this picture on my ipad. Just amazing! I'm looking forward to the rest whenever you manage to work on it.

Looking at the page it makes me think..hmm maybe using digital stuff might help me be faster....Because while I can see how that perspective is set up...I can also see a mess of lines and having to erase a lot of said lines before getting the perspective just right.
So how long did it take you to get the perspective right?

Someday I hope to order a print copy of this--regardless of how difficult or involved your process is, it yields incredible results.

Beautiful spread. I haven't picked up your comic, but followed your progress on your blog. Your interview with the Making Comics guys, Jason Brubaker and Daniel Lieske, was insightful. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and art.
