Description
Based off the little creatures in folklore and media, the goblins are ugly little monsters. They first appeared in the game when a group of goblins captured Barry as means of wanting to eat him for dinner. Rayman defeats the group of goblins and freed Barry, but the goblins escaped to alert the Hobgoblin of Rayman. In short while Rayman and Barry were watched by goblins. Rayman later finds Globox being chased by goblins in the jungle. The goblins later appeared, having overrun the Fairy Council, but Rayman along with Barry, the nymphs, Murphy, Globox, and the Teensies defeated them. From that point on the first chunk of the game, the goblins and later hobgoblins would become the main enemies Rayman and co encountered in the first volume. The Goblins as well as their stronger, smarter, more powerful brethren serve as the minions/lackeys of Reflux. Later on, it is revealed that the Goblins actually caused the first world war in the world of Rayman, a war between the world and the Goblins. After the war, the Glade of Dream decided to banish the Goblins to the Desert of the Knaaren. A Decade later... the Goblins were found by the newly revived Reflux, he offered that they will never go hungry again only if they become his servants. The Goblins agreed because 1: they’re was no food nor corpses to eat, only bones. And 2: Knaarens are the only top predators that the Goblins fear. Goblins come in different breeds, from the small dumb ones to large and in charge ones. These ones the standard Goblins are the most common, they're not really strong and aren’t the brightest. But their lack of strength and intelligence more than makes up for it in their numbers as they will in large groups.
