why is it that my photography inspires people to read poetry?

(it's interesting, it's actually somewhat intended. but, dickinson comes up frequently.)

dunno if i agree with the above comment at all... i love this... and off-centred focus is what, i think, makes this piece... the idea of emptiness, tiredness - the sort of hollowness... very clearly represented in this unconventional image... good job...

I like what you attempted with this one. My critique is based on my personal preferences. I think there is too much "unfocus" in the frame. It makes it hard on my old eyes to study the photo. The stem you have in focus should either be slightly more to center, or take up more of the overall frame. If your camera is capable of it, an even better effect would have been to vary the levels of focus between the front stem, the center stem and the background more noticeably.

Still the photo definitely conveys the right mood. It has a very good sense of being empty and tired, done with the current season of life and waiting for the next season without much energy or ambition.
