These for an actual client or just portfolio work? I really want to get into concept design or storyboarding and still can't figure out where to stick my foot in the door.

Find a local Animation Production company near you, then hound them till you can get a entry level position like a "Scanner" or "Production Assistant" (need some photoshop skills). Once you get your foot in the door seek out the storyboard artist/character designer/whatever you are in to and find how they ply their trade, then work your way up. And be nice! Animation is a VERY SMALL community and you get work more by word of mouth than your portfolio (sad but true).
