Description
I really love this one. I redid my guy's face 6 times, and I'm still not happy with it, but I think my girl and the overall message makes up for crappy facial proportions.Tumblr link: nataliebostwick.tumblr.com/pos…

Right on! ^^ Though I have to say that colors don't have a gender either, and it would have been nice to see the boy pink and the girl blue.

That's true! I may do another version of it. I think I just wanted to get the point across that wearing a dress doesn't make you any less of a "man". Kinda one thing at a time. But thank you for the input, I hadn't considered that!

Yeah...it's just too bad that most people don't see things this way. How everything is labeled and "belongs" with this or that and people get demonized if they cross the line. Oh, and thank you too for listening to my input! ^-^ Keep up the good work. (-:

Isn't that all clothes have? Gender is just a subjective viewpoint on what we consider masculine, feminine and neutral and clothing is practically designed with such an idea in mind. Clothes don't have a sex, but they absolutely have a gender.

I get what you're trying to say here but you said it wrong. Sex is what you were born and Gender is what you identify as.
Some clothes are made for men, which their sex IS male because they were made males.
Some clothes are made for girls, which their sex is female because they were made for females.
But, Just because the clothes were made a certain sex, doesn't mean their gender is male or female. Clothes made for a male could identify as a female and clothes made for a female could identify as a male.

id join the movement but then how are transkids supposed to feel masculine/feminine?
in most cases the only thing tying them to their real gender is their clothes
so yeah, that's really the only problem I see with it

That is something I had thought about, and I think there's definitely things that can be feminine or masculine, but I don't think it's wrong or bad or weird for a man to be a little feminine or vice versa. And I think it's beyond stupid to say that an entire type of clothing (skirts, dresses, blouses when concerning guys) isn't "allowed" for a gender. That's setting us all the way back to when women couldn't wear pants.
I was also a little hesitant because I thought about genderfluid, agender, non-binary, etc. people being affected by this in a similar way.
I totally get your point, and I think it's important. But I think it's also important to not teach people that they can only wear/not wear makeup, not wear types of clothing, etc. based on their gender, whether they're cis gendered or not. But that's my opinion! Thank you for bringing the Trans* community up. They need to be talked about more.

yeah, I get what you're saying. limiting clothing to one gender is stupid and pointless. I agree with that
I just dont want the only thing making me feel masculine to go away

True that. Hopefully society will one day accept it.

Totally fine, love! I don't think gender is nearly as important as our society makes it out to be. And I definitely think it's fluid. Maybe you don't have one.
