Personality:
Mikomi is sweet and somewhat soft-spoken. Essentially, she inherited her mother's bubbly optimism with her father's reserved manner of expression. She finds herself often floating off into dreamworlds and has a certain sense of imagination and wonder that are difficult to emulate or explain.

Like her cousin, Kikyo, Mikomi rather likes to kind of do her own thing when given the choice, but she differs from her cousin when it comes to motivations while playing with other children. Both hesitate to put their own ideas forward, but while Kikyo's reason is primarily shyness and an inability to capture her peer's attention with her suggestions, Mikomi genuinely doesn't care who picks the activity--she's willing to to go along with whatever someone else suggests. This is partly because she's somewhat indecisive when others are involved; she tries to weight the pros and cons of all the options and tends to end up overthinking. Being put in leadership positions or positions in which she has to make the decisions stresses her out.

That said, Mikomi is generally very easygoing and agreeable. She dislikes conflict and shys away from it wherever possible. She enjoys taking a sort of "peacemaker" position; her tendency to look at all possible options or angles which makes decision-making difficult for her turns around to come in handy when it comes to resolving conflicts. While obviously not perfect, her perspective-taking ability is exceptional for a child her age.

A truly angry Mikomi is a rare sight, but when she gets frustrated or upset, she tends to sulk and brood. Sometimes she can manage to cheer herself up, but these sulky episodes often last until someone--usually Rin or Inuyasha--goes to talk to her about it. Mikomi often has to vocally talk through her issues and frustrations to get over them. Though her imagination is vast and colorful, it's rather abstract and jumbled; thoughts get easily blurred and overwhelmed. Talking out loud helps her sort them out. Interestingly enough, despite this, she rarely talks to herself; she needs someone there to listen.

Though Kaede's village has grown exceptionally tolerant of youkai and hanyou, the mixed children are still occasionally exposed to prejudice (mostly from travelers passing through), and Mikomi, who looks significantly more youkai-like than her cousins, tends to get the brunt of it. She outwardly tries to ignore the bullies, and generally refuses to talk/respond to them, but it tears at her on the inside, leading to a sulking session. She doesn't like to cry in front of others, especially the bullies--as a hanyou, she feels she needs to be "strong"--and she tries to hold it in until she's alone. She often manages to succeed (just barely), but not always. If on the rare occasion the bullies resort to physical violence, Mikomi can usually put a stop to it...she hates fighting and her technique is clumsy, but her youki gives her more strength than she even realizes.

But generally, Mikomi is a polite, happy-go-lucky girl who is very kind to those who are kind to her and flustered by those who aren't.

Wardrobe:
Default: Simple pink vest with pale yellow undershirt and reddish hakama-like pants, scrunched at the bottom like Inuyasha's.
Pajamas: A gift from Auntie Kagome. Pink long-sleeve shirt with a striped flower and matching stripped pants, with a tail-hole sewn in (all of her pants have this).
Modern: Another gift from Kagome. Not worn often, as Mikomi is unable to visit the modern era, but it's a cute alternative that she sometimes enjoys. Pink-and-white dress with a matching headband.
Summer: Simple purple vest-like thing with a yellow sash. Has to wear short pants under it because of her tail.
"Lucky" Kimono: A gift from her father. It's made of thick, warm, good-quality fabric and Mikomi particularly loves wearing it in the winter. It also holds a special sentimental value due to being from her dad.

One of Mikomi's biggest frustrations in her childhood was that though Sesshoumaru visited occasionally and brought her beautiful gifts, he was not around as much as she would've liked. Though Rin married Kohaku when Mikomi was four, thus giving her a sort of father figure to have around for most of her life, she was always sad that she never got to know her real father as much as she'd wanted to. So when she got a bit older, in around her mid-late teens, she announced during one of Sesshoumaru's visits that she wanted to travel with him for a while. It took a bit of convincing at first, but she was ultimately able to go and thus spent a few years traveling the country with her father and learning about different places and youkai and legends and, most importantly, getting to know her father better (and he her), not to mention learning how to properly fight/defend herself against youkai and utilize her youki properly, before returning once more to the village, where she decided to live out the rest of her life.

Other:
-Like a real dog, Mikomi does have muscles running throughout her tail, so she can move it freely. However, it is rather heavy, so she rarely lifts it very high off the ground.
-Unlike real dogs (and her uncle and cousins), however, she does not have muscles in her ears and therefore cannot move them any more than a regular human would be able to.
-As a child, her tail looks tube-like with almost "stubby"-looking (despite being quite long) fur, like Sesshoumaru's human-form fluff. However, as she gets older, the fur gets more flowy and even elegant, more like Sesshoumaru's dog-form "mane".
-Mikomi has never before transformed into full-youkai form and hopefully will never have to; it is shown here only for reference's sake.
-Though it is not the case for all hanyou, Mikomi's human period falls during the night of a particular moon phase like her uncle's. Mikomi turns human on the first night of the waning crescent, right after the third quarter.
-Mikomi have a very close relationship with her Uncle Inuyasha, even more so than with her father...mostly because Inuyasha was always there for her and understood her unique hanyou struggles better than anyone else.
-Though I mentioned earlier that Mikomi always wished she could know Sesshoumaru better despite having Kohaku available as a father figure, she does not resent Kohaku in the slightest. They don't necessarily have the tightest relationship ever, but they get along quite well and she respects him.
-Mikomi is exactly seven weeks and three days (~two months and two days) older than her cousin, Kikyo . Needless to say, they are quite close.
-At 5'8", adult Mikomi is quite tall, especially for a woman. However, part of this height is due to her youkai blood/youki. When she turns human, she shrinks to about 5'4".
