Description
This is a White lined Sphinx Moth, or more commonly know as a "Humming bird Moth" .I Captured this one real early in the morning. I'm going out later to see if I can't find it once again in better light.
It's going to be wicked hot today so I'm trying to get out and shoot before the high temp puts all the bugs and animals on hold!

I've seen 2 or 3 of them in last couple weeks, but I'm never ready to capture them - they leave very quickly. I love them but they do not love me.

Yeah I know.. they stay for about 2 minutes then gone for hours...I've just been lucky to be out and there when they show up. I've only had to wait about 45 minutes at the longest.

I am surprised, as these are moths after all. Have you not found them to be out very early in the morning and very late at night - with the first and last of the sun's light? What strange creatures - perhaps I am restricting my "hunting" times...

Looked again today - nada on the moths. But, I got my first Monarch this year and some herons (or egrets - need to do my research). Can't wait to post -- but family first, right? right... boo!

Thank you Cy, it was a challenge...trying to keep it in focus as it moved from plant to plant.
