Description Hi, this morning I went to the upper field next to the old sandpit. while walking the dirt road to it, I found this Praying mantis. It was huge! Enjoy!

The leaf is not a great reference for size...but it does look pretty large. 

And by that, I mean freakin' massive compared with the ones I have seen IRL

Hi, This one was over 8 inches long... the biggest I've seen all summer while out shooting pics.

Wow, how ironic....I saw a big one today too (female) but seems neither of ours was cooperating for the best angle/shot. I wasn't sure about posting my image due to the angle issue. I like your image better anyways.

When they're babies I have them fruit flies. And for water we gave them a cotton ball that they'd sit on and drink from. As they get older I gave them crickets

No worries. They're great pets. Normally I hold on to a few and let others go, that way a few can mate, have eggs and then I can have more for next year, however they tend to not mate unless you're really really lucky

I'd recommend going to an actual mantis care website for extra verification if you ever buy an egg and want mantises of your own
