Description Hi, While at my friends farm yesterday, I saw this Mocking bird as it was looking for bugs and such after we had moved some equipment around by the berry patch. Enjoy!

I love mockingbirds! Had lots more around when we lived in Southern California - only see them once in awhile up here in the Northern part of the state...

Hi, Yeah they are pretty habitat dependent... we have lots on the coastal region, and not that many in the western part of my state.

Very nice! I've only seen mockingbird on my trip to Missouri last year, but only got one photo from very faraway. There's supposed to be mockingbirds here in northern Illinois and the birding club reported one around here, but I have never seen one. I only recently saw a brown thrasher, which is related, and mimic too. Hopefully I'll find a Mockingbird. I also never saw a tufted titmouse. These birds must be so much more common in the south.

Hi, Thank you!

Yeah I have quite a few around here, but the Brown Thrasher is very scarce...I have only seen 3 in 10 years, and only have 1 pic of it in my Gallery.

Thrashers are pretty scarce here too. The only common mockingbird relative here is the Gray Catbird.

Hi, Thank you very much!

Yup they are fun to watch.. I have spent many mornings out in the fields watching them hunt for bugs and sing from the tops of bushes.
