Description
This was project intended to exemplify humanity's modern disconnection from Nature. The hunter is wearing modern clothes and exists in a modern setting, yet is using primitive weapons and techniques to 'survive' in a world which has been all but destroyed by Man's inability to live in harmony with the planet.The wolf in the image is called Teva. She's my personal headdress. She and her sister were both removed from a population in Southeast Alaska by a friend of mine who works with the State Fish and Wildlife Department in population control.
Once Teva was tanned so that she could not rejoin the Earth, I purchased her to make her into the headdress above. Due to some damage to the leather and a missing rear foot, her hide was not deemed suitable for traditional taxidermy and would be otherwise bound for the fur market to be made into clothing instead.
She is the first wolf I ever mounted, and Iβm very pleased with the way she turned out considering. From start to finish, it seemed that Tevaβs creation from tanned pelt to finished headdress came together like a dream.

Holy God, I know people who have children with mental disabilities who would say that you are hardly a decent person. One couple in particular who love their youngest just as fiercely as they do the two eldest, who were completely "normal". To suggest that just because someone doesn't fit your ideal they should aborted, you are some kind of monster.
If you're so again humanity, feel free to remove yourself from the rest of us. Go live with the wolves... I'd love to see what they do to you.

Β I know someone (not on here) that feels people like that should be aborted because it's unnatural for them to live.. if natural selection could run it's course they'd never survive (depending). It's not made up "ideal". It's just fact that humans are wildly overpopulated and are destroying the environment, not just for other animals but for ourselves. If someone thinks with logic and not with emotion, reducing the human population is an obvious thing to do.Β Also removing ourselves wont help. If someone's against something wrong in society, do you really think it would fix it if they just went away?

Natural selection still does run its course. We aren't "outside" or "apart from" or even "above" nature. The sense of altruism instilled by natural selection is the reason these people aren't left to die. Natural selection is still affecting them even though they don't die right away, especially (but not exclusively) if they aren't reproducing.
We can combat overpopulation by encouraging fewer births, using science to increase efficient use of resources and increase the Earth's carrying capacity, and in the future even populating other planets without life forms to bother. But while this is happening, we still need to manage wildlife for their own sake. A few wolves dying is better than a thousand wolves starving (then dying).
Borderline genocide is entirely unnecessary. Besides, when people/animals/etc are considered equal to each other under the law (you want this, right?), it means they're equal . If you'd kill off a person because you don't like them or think they're valuable to society, are you ready to do the same thing to wolves?
Heck, we could go further. If organisms can't adapt to the changing environment and climate, they should die off, right? Predation is a force in natural selection, even human predation. Let the wolves be hunted.

I have a soft spot for animals, including wolves, but to advocate culling humanity based on some arbitrary standard is monstrous. Man is one of the dominant species here on Earth, that's indisputable. I am all for being responsible and doing what we can for the endangered species (and making sure others don't join that list), but having more pity for a wolf pelt than a human life?

Many people do as well, though it's not the first instinct. But that's fine too. It's certainly not harming anyone The issue I have is with using a liking of other animals as an excuse for misanthropy, for example being more concerned with the death of a single dog than the deaths of hundreds of people, as the person a few comments above does. That just isn't right or healthy.

Yes, that wolf is already dead and it's too late. Can't do anything about it. Though by this kind of 'art' (well I have a different definition of art) it makes it look "okay" to kill animals instead of pointing at the cause of those so called "overpopulation". Us, humans. We are the reason this world is going to hell.Β (- for example, we are driving wild animals to smaller and smaller territories. Result: those animals either attack us/live in the cities OR end up like that dead wolf. People hunt deer and wolves for fun. In reality, nature is meant to keep itself in balance, we shouldn't interface with it in any way. In fact, we are the cause of al the shit happening, so why not do something about 'us' and the way we live? That's how I see it.

Everybody wants to have a son in China, why? because they're able to take care of the parents when they're old. (financially) Girls are a burden.Β They never mention it but you have to keep in mind how much people had an abortus(in secret)Β because they wanted to have a boy instead of a girl? I can imagine women throwing themselves off the stairs to prevent a gril from being born!! That's how it works/worked there.
