Nothing too complicated, just trying a few designs.

"Nothing too complicated" - step one is 'take an epic sketch and use it as a ruler'
Seriously though, how would those pods you're putting the wings in work? They seem like they'd inhibit flight.
I think the latter chestplate is better because of the more points of articulation - ponies move their torsos in some crazy ways. The leggings however seem better for the first, just as a chainmail covering.

When I said nothing too complicated, I just wanted to throw out some ideas off my head, without caring about ponies anatomy too much.
But it does need some joints for the knees, as for the wings as well :3
I don't even know how they could manage to get in these armors in the first place

Your joints are pretty good in the latter - the front legs have two main joints where you've placed the metal breaks, and the back have two both underneath the curved plate (that's okay, they're really close). I can even appreciate the two lower panels instead of one on the rear leg simply on the basis of being able to swap out the front and rear leg guards when one gets worn down or broken.
I've had a few ideas for armors like this, but I really haven't been considering them since I learned how to properly do anatomy - just too busy at school. The thing is that school ends in a week - and I don't just mean for the winter I mean forever. Perhaps you and I should both build some armor designs and see who's got the better art of war? XD
As for how they'd get them... Have you seen some of the metallurgy in the show? They obviously have some skilled smiths in Equestria.
