Description
These are Evangelion Units 02 and 01 from Bandai, based on the Eva's piloted by Asuka and Shinji in the first two Evangelion rebuild films. Bandai released these kits in 2010 or so. I painted both with a paint line designed specifically for Evangelion kits sold by Newtype. These were great paints as they were airbrush ready with no mixing required.

These Bandai kits have a couple of weak points to overcome. The torso to pelvis ball joint connection is very weak - the midsection of both of these kits is pretty flymsy. Also - the wrist to hand connection is pretty loose, and it's easy for the hands to come off. You pretty much have to glue the hand/finger parts otherwise they easily come apart. Most of the kit doesn't require any glue though which is nice!

Neon Genesis Evangelion is my favorite anime - and I am a huge fan of the Eva units in the show and movies. The movie versions of the Evas are a bit different from their television series counterparts, but not by much.
