Four things before you start reading this:

1. I've written down my headcannon for proxy characters and Slenderman himself. However I will refer to him as the Operator in the references though. Link to my headcannon.
2. All my Proxies have some sort of mental illness. I believe that this makes it much easier for the operator to posses and recruit them, as I stated in my headcannon.
If I did not portray the mental illness correctly just comment down below. I did try my best to portray them correctly.
3. I also added more information about them being a proxy.
4. If you have read the previous refs I do want ot mention that I changed the relationship with others a bit, by adding less characters but more info about the relationship.

Similar to depression, but does not meet all the criteria. Mei-Ling often loses interests in any of her favourite hobbies. She would also eat less or do the opposite. This behaviour would mostly stay for two weeks before Mei starts feeling a little better about her life.

Father: Shen Yong
Shen was a strict and clever men. He and Camilla met at a blind date. The two of them had a lot in common and continue to speak with each other afterwards. Shen fell for Camilla's Asian-American beauty and made the first moves. They had Mei-Ling 7 years later. He taught her some kung-Fu moves and some sword-fighting. When she was missing for 3 years, Shen was a nervous wreck. He still believed she was alive somewhere out there and three years later he was proven right. He is sad that he is unable to know where exactly she is but is glad that he at least get to hear her voice.

Mother: Camilla Roberts-Yong
Camilla is a soft-spoken and open hearted person. She is always there for everyone and supports any decisions her husband and daughter makes. When Mei-Ling went missing for three years, Camilla always went out for the worst outcome. When she received the call from her daughter, she was relieved to hear that everything was okay with her.
Other relationships:

Brother figure: Evan Clinton
Evan was the first person to help Mei-Ling out. Till this day she still looks up to Evan despite being older than him.

Friend: Alejandro Diaz
Mei saw Al more like an annoying little brother figure when she first met him. They soon grew to be friends. Al may be much younger than Mel, but they are able to talk and gossip about anything or anyone.

Friend: Alayah Lorizio
Mei is able to talk with Alayah whenever she feels down. Alayah may not be able to help much but always likes to listen to her and try to give the best advice she can.

Rival: Valerie Langston
Mei first met Valerie on a mission. Like her Val was at the same mission but for Tzelial. The two immediately started a catfight and became sworn rivals. Whenever there is a battle both of them would want to fight the other.
Short story
For the summer Mei-Ling Yong decided to work part time as a camp counsellor at summer camp called "Camp Ebon-wood". She was 16 and technically still too young to do most things by herself, so she had a mentor named Misty. The girls became close despite their 5 year age difference.
The job would be 2 months long, Mei didn't really mind it that much as she surprisingly enjoyed her time there. At the beginning Mel did a great job and Misty was surprised how that many of the kids just accepted Mei-Ling so easily. Sure Mei could be very critical of everything the kids did wrong but at least tried not to freak out about it.

A few weeks went by and Mei seemed to get more paranoid and claiming that there was something evil keeping an eye on all of them. The counsellors started to tease her about, claiming that she just wanted some more attention since being so perfect was not enough for her. Misty on the other hand tried her best to help her. When she realised Mei-Ling was getting sick and started to nose bleed and couch up blood, she tried to convince her friend to go back home. Mei wanted to stay as she wanted to proof the others that there was something there and she won't leave until the other's seen it too. Misty got worried about the obsession Mei-Ling had with this "thing".
A few of kids saw Mei-Ling leaving the camp site in the middle of the night and immediately reported it to the counsellors. All of them screamed for Mel-Ling for what felt like hours before calling the police.

Three years later Mei's mom received a call from her. Mei claimed that she was fine and that her they should drop her missing person case.
Mei-Ling was not found, but is known to be alive as she keeps calling her parents at least once a month. Police tried to track down her location but are unable too, as the signals would go to static. Her parents don't mind as long as she keeps calling them and sounds fine.
Notes/facts
Mei's mom is partly Thais and Caucasian. Her dad is Chinese.
Mei absolutely adores children and loves spending time with them. She is also one who keeps an eye on young kid "proxies"
She has a motorcycle which she loves a lot.
Evan helped her with her alias and outfit. he decided a scarecrow would suit her, mainly because of her stitches.
Her hair was supposed to be half shaved and lose. I though it would be more for her to have a braid, especially at the field.
