Description
"To say it was a hectic day at Sweet Briar Rose College would be an understatement. It seemed that the two most prominent sororities had gotten into a huge all-out brawl that caused quite a bit of damage. First there was Kappa Iota Pi, a group of girls that appreciated all things dark and edgy. The other was Delta Omega Zepla Epsilon, who preferred things as pink and traditionally girly as possible. To say these two clubs were polar opposites would go without saying. Yet both were equally as ferocious in the war between them. It took a long while and even a lengthy 911 call to get everything back under control and both sororities, leaders and all, into a makeshift detention room until it could be decided what to do. The atmosphere was still quite hostile, with four officers there to keep things from escalating yet again, and the leaders looked ready to take each other out. With the principal there ready to expel every single college student in there should things not calm down, one teacher can’t help but feel disheartened at the thought of all of them being punished so severely. Perhaps there was a way that she could have this end without any expulsion or bloodshed? Then she had an idea; an old fairytale that she grew up hearing that was awfully similar to the situation at hand. After pleading to the principal to give her a chance to try quelling the two warring clubs, she got ready to tell her story.
A long time ago, on a continent few remember, there were two neighboring kingdoms, both filled with two very powerful women. To the east was the kingdom of Faeramara, a beautiful, lush kingdom filled with serene wildlife, and populated with pink skinned beauties that wore silk and wielded beautiful golden swords. To the west was Daemogulzar a much darker and foreboding kingdom set in treacherous mountains. Here lived a race of blue skinned women that tamed the ferocious beasts that lived in the caves and had weapons and armor of steel. Never before were there more different, yet strong, kingdoms in the land. And unfortunately, that meant they did not get along with each other. Day in and day out their differences had them at odds with each other, both claiming to be the strongest of the two. Finally, one day, the two races decided enough was enough, and war broke out between them. They decided the next day they would battle to see who would truly be the strongest.
However, from up above, a golden goddess and her angels were watching with great sadness. She knew that once the fighting started, it would not stop until there were none of either race left, and spell the end of the two kingdoms. Couldn’t there be another solution? The goddess consulted her angels throughout the night, until finally they came up with a plan. The next day, with dawn rising on the horizon, the armies of both kingdoms made their way to the battlefield. The Daemogulzans rode in on ferocious war dogs, wyverns, bears, and panthers, all armored up in heavy steel and wielding axes and maces. They were lead by their general, who had an armored war panther that could easily crush buildings. The Faeramarans came on beautiful birds and deer, donning gold and silk armor and wielding swords as beautiful as they were, and their leader came in on a unicorn that was blessed with powerful magic. Both armies looked ready to completely demolish the other. At the end of this, there would be only one winner. The leaders stared each other down from across the field.
3… 2… 1…
SNAP!
Suddenly, the goddess watching from above snapped her fingers, and in an instant, the weapons of both armies disappeared! The women looked amongst each other in confusion. How did this happen?? Was this some sort of trick? Before they could even figure this out…
SNAP!
The goddess snapped her fingers again, and both armies had lost their armor and clothing, leaving them in just their smallclothes. Quickly both armies grew angry; surely this was some sort of trick on the other side. They were weaponless and armorless, but they still had their might. Not wasting another minute, both leaders charged forward, their armies following suit.
But this wasn’t over. The Goddess still had one last trick up her sleeve. Her angels arrived in two, carrying with them a beautiful crystal flute for the goddess. She picked it up, and began to play a soft, slow melody that soon began to be heard down on the earth below. As the wind carried the goddess’s tune, both armies finally met and began their fight, only to find their energy being sapped away. Even their war animals grew tired and couldn’t stay standing. The two races tussled with whatever might they could muster, but the goddess’s song proved more powerful than anything either one could imagine. Even their leaders, still on their steeds, couldn’t keep their eyes open as they tried to take out one another. One by one, every warrior on the field collapsed atop one another, falling into the deepest of sleeps. The flute’s lullaby was carried on the wind, from the battlefield to both kingdoms, and much like the two armies did, the residents were falling asleep too. Before long, there were none left awake in either kingdom. Both races would sleep peacefully together, and soon the goddess and her angels joined them in slumber. And much like how the flute had put both races to sleep, the two clubs, their leaders, the policewomen, and even the principal and teacher had dozed off from the story! At least now, there would be no more fighting amongst these bedfellows.
This epic story of scholarly shuteye was made possible by resident dA storywriter, Miss , and illustated by yours truly, da artist formerly known as dA's KankerRomancer, as my second ever dA commission. The design of all my client's story characters (as well as a bit of revising of the story itself) also goes credit to moi!"
