Description
I've been playing Doom Eternal a lot ever since release and did some small fanart for it. I like the Marauder for the design and menacing personality than for the enemy type because I hate fighting them T_TBut anyways, here it is and if you get the joke, bonus points for you.

I'll have to agree with you, the Marauder's design and personality are its best aspects, its implementation into regular gameplay not so much. He doesn't even feel that powerful in Battlemode! Then again, I did get my first and only win with him...
In other news, I love this piece! The detail and colours are amazing, and you've really done the design justice!

Honestly I just personally think he kinda disrupts the flow of the battle. It'd be fine if a) he didn't have his stupid dog and b) You could overcharge his shield like you can with the shield demons because otherwise it's just a waiting game and then you only really have one way to kill him efficiently, which is SSG -> Ballista -> SSG, rinse and repeat. But again, I LOVE edgy designs/characters and the Marauder just AWESOME, definitely my favourite design from the entire game and if it weren't for his stupid combat method, he'd be my favourite thing about the game and almost everything in this game is 10/10.
Battlemode idk because I have the PS4 version and I don't have the online membership so I can't even try it but that does suck.
And thank you so much dude! I'm glad to hear you love itΒ : )

No problem, it's hard not to love your stuff anyway
I agree with you, the challenge of killing him feels cheap and the method you have to use really decreases the creativity you can have with taking him down. I would've preferred it if, instead of becoming a super-heavy demon, he was a recurring rival boss fight that you battle multiple times throughout the game. Instead of staying the same and being cheap, his style would evolve and he would get stronger as the Slayer gets stronger, and it would always be a one-on-one battle, save for probably some fodder demons.
As for Battlemode, I personally don't think you're missing out on much - it's a neat concept, but I find it too hard to get into - I've only found demons to be fun to play as so far (granted, I'm not the best DOOM player), and considering how long it takes to get into a game as a demon, whereas Slayer takes much less, I think most other people think so too. It's a shame, the game's the best thing I've played in quite a long time, so it's sad to see the multiplayer be so lacklustre. Still, I can forgive it because of the greatness of just about everything else.
