Somewhere in the plains of Ifranika, there is a giant among giants unlike anything to have walked since the Primeval Age, so massive is he that nothing, not even the fiercest chimeras and dire lions known to mankind can bring down, as the scars on his feet show the futile efforts of such an attempt.

His tusks are like tree trunks with branches meant to both pierce and bludgeon, and his hide is so thick and tough, arrows and arquebus bullets have been known to bounce off his hide.

Despite this, traders from northern Ifranika see him as a sign of goodluck, for not once has he ever attacked a caravan, and his mere presence keeps many a raider or hungry predator at bay.

He is known simply as… Abul.

Abul is an example of just how massive Dire Beasts can get... but is also an example of one of the rarest, as he's a Dire Elephant without equal... because, for now, there are no dire elephants of his generation.

The conditions to make such a giant is a mystery, as Dire Elephants are just so rare, and it's assumed that, per the appetites of regular elephants and dire beasts in general, if a Dire Elephant were to arise, they're also assumed to die of starvation relatively quickly even compared to other Dire Beasts.

Still, Abul's existence implies that Dire Elephants are an example of Naturalised Dire Beast, as, for those that have witnessed him, he has not gained size in recent years, nor does he exhibit any of the hyper-aggressiveness of non-Naturalised Dire Beasts.
