Okay, i've zoomed in and resized this till it became pixals. What the hell is up with her hoof? Is it dirt or something because I really wanna know what it is.

The forehooves have got four little retractable fingers to hold stuff and her hind legs have been replaced with mechanical ones. I got Sweetie here to explain a little better.

Ah, that makes sense. From the angles it looked like she'd cut fingers out of her hoof.

Thanks, pal. That's no silencer, but that's a pretty good idea, lol.

Huh. Either I just didn't look at the rifle at all since you drew it or you changed it a bit. I never noticed how techy it is!

Thanks, bud. It's not actually based on anything and I'd kind of draw a different weapon every time. My man Buckweiser scratched this up buckweiser.deviantart.com/art/… , and that's more or less the 'official' design.

Your art comes with a story. Weither it be one you've read or one of your own. Its beautiful and crafted. I would love to make a story with someone who puts as much passion into his drawingas he does communicating with the community.

This one here's actually part of my fan-fic. I'm honored that you'd want to collaborate, but I kind of have a lot of stuff going on. I'd hate to commit to something and then drop off, you know? I appreciate your comments, though.

Can't say I do, lol. The closest thing to an OC would be Shimmer Cell or Supermare.

I have acquired Photoshop CC. How long have you been doing pony art/ do you have any pointers on actually going into pony art (or art in general)?

NCMares In reply to ShipIsLoveShipIsLife [2014-11-30 06:25:12 +0000 UTC]
My first couple of pony sketches were a while back - April of 2013 I think. I actually began watching the show that February. I learned the basics from some handy online guides and then developed my own sort of style as time went on.
Equestria Daily's artist training grounds were extremely helpful, too. My first drawfriend feature was in August 2013 and just a few days later the training grounds began so I was pretty psyched to try my hand at ponies. The next one is in a few days - hope to see you in there!
The number one thing you can do to improve is diligently practice and experiment, though. Drawing something every day is essential to getting better. Don't be afraid to trace, either. I would do it all the time when I was starting out to see how the pros would draw something, especially Andy Price of the MLP comics. I never posted anything I traced, but it helped me get a feel. YouTube videos can also be very helpful along with live streams.
And remember to never give up. Rarely will you see someone born with that innate talent. Nearly all of the pros started out just like us, but they went balls-to-the-wall with their practicing and became great.
I'm here for you, pal. Fire away if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the tips. I will definitely look into EQD for the training grounds thing. I'm probably not gonna get a drawing tablet - no money right now - but I guess I'll just have to get better with the pen tool (My fav tool). I doubt my magic mouse will be any good for anything besides being better than an integrated track pad.
Question regarding Night Mares: Have you ever thought of maybe making one illustration per chapter? Like, maybe not quite as detailed as your current work, but something to get the idea of a scene across (This is also why I love your story so much. Instead of my mind interpreting and going willy-nilly, I have concept given to me [the reader] to work around: your art)
That's all for now, and thanks again for the tips and replies.

You got it, pal. Wacom has the Bamboo line for around $80 USD or so. Those are great introductory tablets for a (very relatively) cheap price. That's how I got started, and then after three years I stepped up to the Intuos4 which cost about $300. They might be a little cheaper now that the Intuos5 is out and about, too.
That's not a half bad idea, but... I kind of want you guys to use your imaginations, haha.
