The way I normally draw is this:
1. Sketch a rough figure in light pencil.
2. Ink in the parts I like with a Sharpie pen.
3. Erase the pencil lines and scan the ink image into my computer on ultra high contrast.
4. Open the image in Photoshop and fix any inking mistakes with black and white paintbrushes.
5. Use the paint bucket tool to fill in the colors, and use the paintbrush to fix any gaps.
6. Switch to a soft, translucent brush and add shading, highlights, and shadows on separate layers on top, and add background on a layer behind.

... anyone got any tips to streamline this process? I can't help but feel there's an easier way, and one that makes for cleaner lines.
