It's orignally a sound novel(the link above is a remake of the sound novels),but it's been made into an anime,manga,novel,a fighting-like game and a movie(well,2,the sequels being made).
It's a mystery-murder,it has alot of random violence(well,not random,they all have a backstory,it's more of violence that makes no sense in the end)
