Hi, I'm ysasi from

I've checked out one of your works before! I'm glad to see you're still working hard. Your control of color here is remarkable - I love the combination of deep purple and violet with brilliant gold and yellow. I also dig that the golden colors are part of the stars in the background. The glow around the moon (or planet) is cool! I've never used ibisPaint (if that's what you're still using), but as I understand it, it has blending modes available. I would suggest starting to explore Color Dodge and Linear Dodge on your layers to add some extra depth to effects like the moon's glow and the lighting on the skin.

The clothing folds are looking great and the eye shape is awesome! For the nose and lips, I use a little trick to make sure that they stay aligned and realistic: there are two skin protrusions between the bottom of the nose and the top of the lips. They make a little dimple just about the center of your top lip. Those two protrusions originate from the piece of skin between the nostrils and end at each crest of the top lip. The lines they make will always correspond to the angle of your head. It sounds complicated, but if you can drill it into your head, you can keep your nose and mouth aligned every time. The body shape and size are fantastic, but it never hurts to keep tweaking and improving!

Awesome job!

Thanks for the critique, and for remembering me!ย
I have tried color/linear dodge a few times, but I'll keep working on it, thank for the suggestion! And I'll try the philtrum technique as well, thanks!ย

Haha I didn't know it was called the philtrum - thank you! That's proof that we can all learn from one another!

Hi! Iโ€™m from ProjectComment group!ย  ย

First of all, wow such an amazing improvement compared to the older drawing! I love the work with light on the character. Though maybe the shading on the moon should face opposite direction, I think if the lighter area was on the right side like on the character, it would give your artwork great dimension and make the interaction between the character and background. One more thing Iโ€™d advise you to pay attention to is anatomy. The best way to improve it is studying photo references Even with stylized drawings understanding how human body works will help you to avoid mistakes. Here are some examples of references I like to use

Thank you so much for this critique, it really means a lot to me! Just so I can make sure, was there anything specific in this drawing where the anatomy stood out? I think that I've looked at it so much that I can't tell, and it'd be really helpful if you could point out things specifically. Thanks again!ย

No problem! And sure, I'll try to explain it First of all, the shoulders seem way too sharp, girl's shoulders usually have more rounded. And also I feel that her body is slightly too short, normally it takes 2,5-3 heads. If you'd like, I can try to do a readline so it's more clear.ย

Oh, I see, thanks!
I'm usually more focused on anatomy, but the skirt was very high-waisted (I don't think I portrayed that very well, though)
Thanks again!
