— Mkuu? Where are you? — A yell could be heard, it was from Vitani, Zira’s only daughter. — Mkuu?! — The lioness rushed, looking for her newborn daughter.
Vitani had left the small lion cub in her cave, perhaps while she looked for some scraps, her daughter would have crawled away. After running for quite some time, Vitani found a small body lying nearby. Her eyes widened, and she rushed.
— Mkuu? — She said, before realizing… — MKUU! NO! — Vitani yelled, and stopped near the corpse. She sniffed her daughter, and laid down, pulling her closer to her with her own paws. — Mkuu, no, no! — Vitani sobbed as a loud and painful roar came. — Mkuu… — Vitani said as other outsiders who could’ve heard her noise approached.

Hey guys! Here with another drawing
Here’s Vitani and her daughter, Mkuu ( chief in Swahili ). Basically, Zira forced Vitani to engage with a rogue to bare cubs to the outsiders and possibly expand ( Zira would emotionally manipulate Simba into trying to offer Mkuu as a "payment" like she did with Kovu. Seeing how Simba would be affected by this, he’d be an easy target, and then the outsiders could easily take him down ). Unfortunately, Mkuu was left out cold, and due to her conditions, she passed
I know lions have 2-5 cubs in a litter, but since Vitani was thin because of where she lived, she only had one cub, Mkuu
