Description The Warrior Chick is done!

This cosplay-costume is based on the artwork from one of my top favourite artists out there - Jason Levesque aka stuntkid:

I instantly fell in love with the design and I knew I had to cosplay her one day. I might not be as slender looking as the original, but I tried my best to somewhat scale the proportions.

The rabbit scull was the most fun part to make - finding a proper fabric for the shorts was the most difficult one! I thought, ladybug-style polka dots would be quite common.. Fail.

For the weapon, I only had two days left before the con I was planning to wear it, so I kinda improvised a lot on that one. I took a plastic pipe, glued it on top of a styrofoam board, started carving like mad and paper-mΓ’chΓ©d the hell out of it: it turned out surprisingly well - and ultra light-weighted! ;D

Now I just need to find a good location for a proper shoot.

Thank you and sorry for the uber late reply..

I started padding a wig head to the final circumference of my own head+wig.
I used chicken wire to shape the basic form of the skull and covered the whole thing with light weighted air dry clay and sculpted the basic shape - the wire holds everything perfectly together and you can even take off the skull while the clay is still wet and press it on your head to bend/adjust it until it fits correctly - then let it dry completely. After that, I carved/sanded everything into the final shape, painted the skull and added the ears.
The ears are carved out of insulation foam, covered in a fluffy fabric and screwed (glue alone was too weak) to the skull.
Done.

I know, my english sucks whenever I try to explain stuff, but I hope this was somewhat helpful.

How long did it take to make the skull?
And Do you think you could take a pictures of the front view? Sides? Back? Where did you get the reference you used to sculpt the clay?
I'm group cosplaying with friends (for Alice in Punkland) and our theme is punk with skulls and I came across your picture and would love it if you gave me permission to use the idea.

thats ok! thank you so much for the explanation! ive been meaning to make a cow skull mask for a while, but wasnt sure where to start. your rabbit skull mask is beautiful and extremely realistic, so i really appriciate the quick run through of your process and dont worry! your english was perfect!
