They have a more organic look than robotic here, and the only excuse I can give is that I've spent the last month or two drawing nearly only 'Inuyasha' fanart. Not that I was impressively skilled at robots to begin with, but...
And let it be clear, they are only cuddling. Which is, er, vaguely wrong in and of itself, but... No genetalia! No sex! Only cuddling!

Hell, it's an almost exclusively mammalian thing on earth, and yet alien robots, built possibly millions of years before mammals were even the dominant species here, are supposed to have replica genitals not only of those, but specifically of humans? Who most certainly didn't exist back then?

Actually I thought of a theory. They don't exactly "reproduce" the way we do. They do have "sex" though.
The "male" has a plug like structure and the "female" has a receptacle. During "mating" the male transfers an energy pulse to the female which they both find pleasurable. The female holds this energy within her body until an offspring is constructed, then she transfers this energy into the new robot, giving it life. I guess that could be a hose or wire, their version of an "umbilical cord." LOL
And who says this "genitalia" has to be between their legs? LOL...could be any where on the body.

Why? Why would they need two donors, for lack of a better word?
They're robots, made of circuitry and metal and programming, not genes and flesh and brainwaves. We mix genes when we reproduce so that harmful disorders might be bred away, while a combination of genes might provide useful new mutations. This is purely an organic thing, and hell, there are organic creatures that don't even have two sexes anyway.
Why would robots, that can be endlessly repaired and rebuilt, that are programmed with the cold, hard logic of computers, need to play the guessing-game of what might be a hopefully beneficial reproduction? For us, it works; for robots, highly advanced alien ones, it would be messy, inefficient and not worth the trouble it might cause at all.
I'm not saying there's no way for Transformers to bond in a pleasurable way - Blackarachnia and Silverbolt are pretty hearty clues that they can - but why the hell would it have anything to do with mating?
I mean, why are you so intent that robots should be able to sexually reproduce?

If they don't need to reproduce at all, then why are there female and male transformers? Why do they say "he" and "she" instead of "it" then? You don't need a male or a female if it's not for reproduction. That's my opinion

yeah, besides teh fact that in the Transformers Ultimate Guide, written by Simon Furman who wrote all of the profiles for the transformer characters it says right in Arcee's profile that there isn't any difference between the male and female other than body design and that female body designs are rare. they have no gender based dimorphism as a species.

Maybe the Quintessons built female-themed Transformers to appeal to customers. Or maybe it's just a design decision because a 'female' robot thought it'd look good.'
In fact, looking at it, Starscream and Thundercracker and Skywarp, the three classical seekers, have decidedly feminine bodyform, with a slim waist curving out into hips. That, more than anything, points to 'female' TFs being a design decision.
And that may well be your opinion, but it has no basis in canon. I don't see why you, or your friend, argue this point instead of just saying that you want them to have genders. I'm completely cool with that; your fanfics and fanart and RPs.

I fully agree on that part. I just still don't see the point in their male, female designs if they weren't really needed.
Gah I don't think we're gonna get anywhere with this, lol. I think we could say: Alright, if you cut them out of the fantasy world: yes then they most likely don't have any gender whatsoever. But in the fantasy world of TF slash, they mostly do have human genders.
I don't mind either of them, i just love to play with the thought of them having genders.

Yeah, but I'm not dealing in the fantasy world of slash; I was asked a question, and responded with an answer rooted in canonical publications.
That was my point all along. If you want them to have gender, in the fics you write and so on, by all means, don't let me stop you; make them male and female as you wish.
Fanon, however, was not the subject of the discussion. I'm not continuing the argument, I'm just explaining my stance. If they have genders in your fanon, knock yourself right on out, and have fun.

Jeg synes det mest utrolige de har formået er at forbigå 'Armada', for så at dubbe 'Energon' og 'Cybertron'. Lidt ligesom hvis vi havde fået 'De To Tårne' og 'Kongen Vender Tilbage', uden først at have fået 'Ringens Fællesskab'. Good going, guys. Jeg mener, ikke at de tre serier var gode, men for satan, da. ._.; Og ja, det er sindsygt svært at finde Alternators. Hvad er der, et eller andet med tre-fire stykker ude i hele norden? Pffh.

Ja det har du da så sandelig ret i! Danskerne er ekstremt bange for at "latterliggøre" sig selv. Det eneste som er "lovligt" er at klæde sig ud som en ork og en troldmand, og løbe rundt i en skov... jamen hip hurra for det da, grrr!
Armada synes jeg var en rigtig god serie når man fik sat sig ind i den, det er absolut ikke noget for børn, mere for os ældre

Ja, ikke? Jeg ville elske at kunne klæde mig ud - i et sjovt TF kostume eller en eller anden lækker victoriansk kjole, bare - men nej da. Det gør man bare ikke. Nejnej, så hellere holde sig til hørlærred kofter og skumgummi sværd.
Problemet jeg har, mindre med Armada, men stadigvæk, og mere med Cybetron og Energon, var at det bare gik så forbandet langsomt. 
Og jeg synes stadig at det er for dårligt at dubbe de to sidste uden den første.

Humanoid=/=human. They are giant robots. There is no logical reason for them to reproduce sexually.

But we are beating a dead horse. There will always be different thoughts on this sort of thing. I won't even bring Pixar's Cars into this...but I don't like much the idea of robot sex anyway. But I don't flame the idea either. I just try and come up with different theories of stuff, whether or not it would work.
