Sometimes I wonder if he was so selfish (because he didn't want to lost another 'baby girl' who he loved) or it's just because of his maternal instinct.
But Rodion Raskolnikow from Crime and Punishment said "one death for hundred lifes".
What do you think about it?

Or maybe it's another side of the table? He just got tired of all the sacrifice around the world. Think what would become when the cure would be created. Even grander war would envelope from this. Fancy monopol nothing more. Or they could consider it a means to gain more power(whoever would have cure in their hands would be a master of life and death). Still I think his actions were purely primal. Would you sacrifice your loved ones that easly for the sake of others?
Oh and pardon me for delayed answer but I was preocupiied with my final term at university. Hoping to get your forgivness!

I sure don't think so. How would YOU feel if the only person in your life you found yourself truly caring for, after everyone else was dead or gone, was about to be dissected by a ragtag buch of wannabe doctors who are HOPING for a cure and aren't certain they'll get one from her??

And because of that I absolutely agree with you. Those are exact the same words I spoke to the friend of mine^^. I don't even have to think about what would I do in the same situations Joel was in. I would happen to do precisely what he did. And yet this is also the matter of perspective of course. Think what would you do if you had to protect ones you love when founding someone immune to the virus? ;]
