Of course he's scared. He has no real idea what's ahead of him. He has to take this whole thing on faith... and for someone who spent much of his life betraying children to have any sort of faith is a HUGE jump.
I'm not expressing that well. Let me put it this way:
Doctors don't trust medicine. They know how badly wrong it can go.
Engineers don't trust materials. They know materials break.
Scientists don't trust initial perceptions. They know people make mistakes.
Springtrap spent much of his life using a child's faith and trust to lure children to their deaths. He knows just how dangerous it is to trust *anything or anyone*.
But he's here.
Because, in the end, he's not that person anymore. And so... and so, he's willing to have faith, for the first time in his life and death.
