So many fan comics and fics show him being all sorry for what he's done. Judging from how he acted in the game, I just don't see that happening. He's been a nasty SOB for decades, and 30 years in that bunny suit in the Safe Room didn't make him rethink anything. As soon as he got free he went back to his old homicidal ways. I don't know if his soul is salvageable.

Springtrap's head is already in bad shape. The back is smashed out. But the Clue Hammer does no physical damage, it's more an "ego attack with knockback" weapon, which can stun and cause pain and send you flying, but doesn't physically hurt you.
