His pelvis is simply gone. They shook out the bones before they put the endoskeleton in. They left in the mummified stuff because, well, would you want the job of cleaning that out? Ew, just douse it in Febreeze!

Babysitter? That would never have occurred to me, but you're right, in a way. Of all the ghosts, The Puppet is the one who is not afraid of Springtrap because he knows that Springy can't do him any more harm.
It's not up to the Puppet to free Springtrap. He doesn't have that power. He didn't actually free the children with the balloons in RwaBC, he only showed him the way once he saw that they had come out of the animatronics they were haunting. Right now, Springtrap is not eligible to be freed, and what would he have to look forward to if he was? The kids went to Heaven. I think Springy has a different destination.
